What is the Starr Gate app?

Starr Gate is renter’s insurance for pilots, which gives pilots more control over the insurance they buy, powered by High Definition Underwriting by Starr. Optionally, it can use data from the cockpit to help safe pilots save up to 35% on their non-owned insurance premiums.

Pilots can now buy insurance by the month, or by the year, purchasing, pausing, activating, or renewing their insurance through the app. Buying renter’s insurance has never been faster or easier.

Optionally, pilots can use data from their tablet Electronic Flight Bag which supports the sharing of flight tracks to get feedback on their performance in the cockpit. Scoring this data, (provided by partner CloudAhoy) gives pilots objective feedback on their performance, generating a pilot score that can be taken in to account when pricing premiums.

The app is available on the iPad for now.
